| Professional experience: |
36 years experience in intellectual property: 18 years primarily in the engineering industry and 16 years in the chemical and materials industry and, very recently, operating his own IP consultancy. During that time John has provided services in relation to patent drafting, filing, prosecution, maintenance and opposition, to infringement and validity issues and to IP education, portfolio management and strategy.
He has also had considerable experience in drafting and negotiating agreements involving intellectual property issues (ie licensing in/out, jv’s, research agreements – particularly those involving academic partners). John has also been involved in significant acquisition and divestment projects and has managed IP teams.
